Who is it for?
The one day taster sessions aimed to give volunteers and paid members off staff the skills and knowledge needed to practice mentoring within their own organisation. It is aimed at people who are interested in becoming mentors.
The one day taster will include the following topics:
- Definition of a mentor
- The qualitiesa to be a mentor
- The different activities a mentor may need to undertake
- Understand the needs of vulnerable client groups who may need mentoring service
- How to be an effective mentor
- Managing difficult situations
- The difference between befriending and mentoring
- Managing boundries
- How to put theory into practice withing your own organisation
A 5 session OCN Level 2 accredited course will be available soon.
